ITF World Seniors 30+ Championships
The annual World Seniors Team and Individual Championships are held under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation (ITF)
and cater for three distinct age categories - Young-Seniors (30–45+), Seniors (50-60+) and Super-Seniors (65-90+).
The 30+ & 90+ age groups have been added from 2021 to the Individual Championships only at this stage.
As with all ITF Seniors tournaments,
the events are divided into 5 year age groups. Australian teams have competed at these Championships since 1973.
More details on how the team and individual championships are run can be found on the
ITF website...
Australian Team Selection
Each year two panels of six selectors are elected to choose the male and female Australian teams to
compete at the Young-Senior, Senior and Super-Senior World Team Championships. The objective is to
select the teams of a suitable standard from the players who nominate. Tennis Seniors Australia
has a set of selection criteria which the committee uses in the selection process and there is a
corresponding appeals process that players can follow if they fail to gain selection.
Players wishing to nominate for consideration for an Australian team can do so via an on-line form.
