Australian Teams Nomination Requirements

TSA has revised the Australian Teams Nomination Form and it has been uploaded onto 92 Computing. When nominating for the 2019 Australian Representative Teams nominees are advised to read the requirements and fully understand the commitment they are undertaking . Failure to comply with these requirements may effect selection in future Australian Representative Teams.



Peter Froelich awarded Most Outstanding 35+ Tennis Senior

The Executive of TSA is pleased to congratulate our Treasurer, Peter Froelich, on winning the Newcombe award for 2018 as the most outstanding 35+ tennis senior. Apart from doing a terrific job as treasurer for the last seven years and organising the Oceanic Region tournament at Kooyong since its inception, Peter has represented Australia 21 times, including acting as Captain on 9 occasions. He has won 9 individual World titles and has won the Australian Seniors Singles 15 times.



2019 ITF World Championships

The dates and venues of the three 2019 World Championships have now been finalised:

  • Young Seniors: Miami Beach, USA, 20 Oct - 2 Nov
  • Seniors: West Lisbon & Estoril, Portugal, 4 - 17 Aug
  • Super-Seniors: Umag, Croatia, 15 - 28 Sep



Busselton & Bunbury to host 2020 Australian Championships

Tennis Seniors WA (TSWA), in partnership with Tennis West have announced that the 2020 Australian Seniors Tennis Championships will be held in the State’s South West, with Busselton and Bunbury Tennis Club set to co-host the prestigious event .



Oceania Regional Championships 2019

Entries are now open for the 2019 Oceania Regional Championships. It is the most prestigious seniors tennis event on the Oceania calendar with ranking points second only to the World Championships. It will be held March 7-11, 2019 (Victorian Labour Day weekend) on Melbourne clay courts. The main venue is the iconic Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, the major sponsor of the tournament.



Workshop Announcement

Representatives from TSA and Tennis Australia met in September to collaborate playing opportunities, tournaments, administration and future projects. Importantly, discussions centred around both senior performance players as well as ways to grow tennis participation and social play of adult/seniors across the country.  To gain further insights from the field and tap into the considerable knowledge in each State/Territory a workshop is planned for Monday, 10 December 2018.



Player rankings for October, 2018

Rankings Coordinator Gail Bates has recently released the list of player rankings as of end of October 2018. These include mens and womens rankings for both singles and doubles. 



Nominations for TSA National Selectors

Tennis Seniors Australia annually appoints a National Selection Committee. For 2019 there will be two National Selection Committees, one for men (6) and one for women (6).


Nominees must complete the nomination form and forward it to the TSA Secretary, Pat Moloney by Wednesday 5th December, 2018.



Australian Seniors Tennis Players Hall of Fame

The TSA Executive is delighted to announce the creation of the Australia Seniors Tennis Players Hall of Fame, to be launched at our Presentation Dinner to be held Friday 11th January 2019 in Shepparton. A player is deemed eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame based on a formula that takes account of performance at World and Australian Championships in singles, doubles and mixed. While there have been many Australians to have won World Titles, only 12 have made the initial entry into the Hall of Fame.

Niagara Therapy Australian Championships 2019

The 2019 Niagara Therapy Australian Seniors Tennis Teams Carnival and Individual Championships will be hosted by Tennis Seniors NSW at the beautiful Shepparton Lawn Tennis Club, January 7-18, 2019. The Opening Ceremony will be held on 6th January 2019 at the Shepparton Showground.
