Congratulations to John Stark and Neville Rodwell on selection in the Australian Von Cramm Cup (60+) team (John as captain) to play in the 2010 ITF Super Senior Championships in Turkey. and to Colin Holgate on selection as reserve for the  Austria Cup (55+) team for the ITF Seniors Championship[s in Mexico.

 

The Twilight Doubles Pennant will run from 26 October 2009 to 22 March 2010 with the final on 29 March 2010 – with a break over the Christmas/January period.  For a copy of the teams and draw, click here. For the results and point score, click here.

 

The next Sunday round robin tournament will be held at 9.30am on 21 March 2010 on the modgrass courts at the Forrest Tennis Club.  The cost will be $7.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members.  To put your name down, ring  Colin Lyons (6254 4853(h) or 6213 6353(w) or email colin.lyons@innovation.gov.au or ring Gail Jones on 6254 4240 or email b-gjones@bigpond.net.au  on 6281 3278.   If you put your name down and find you cannot play on the day, please notify one of the organisers so that the others players are not inconvenienced.

 

The 40th ACT Seniors Tennis Tournament will be held from 2-5 April 2010 (Easter). Tennis Seniors ACT will be celebrating it's 40 years in existence in 2010 with a dinner on Friday 7 May. It was the first seniors/veterans organisations to be formed in Australia. The first president was Bob Thornton.  The dinner will be at the Southern Cross Club West in Catchpole Street, Jamison at 7.30 for 8.00pm. We would like to get as many past and present players along for the  celebration. Transport can be organised if required. The cost of the dinner will be $45 per person for a three course meal and tea/coffee and after dinner mints.  Names should be given to Julie Howe (phone 6241 1578 or email julie.howe@bigpond.com) by Friday 30 April.
